These Shenandoah engagement photos were taken in Decemberwhere there were only a few people on the trails in Shenandoah National Park. While it was a cold and windy weekend date, we still managed to get the best and most ideal weather conditions given the timing with very little snow and no ice on the roads.
We did a quick hike near Skyland Resort on Skyline drive.
There are moments when I feel like I’ve peaked.
My life mission has been achieved – I can die happy lolol.
I’m rarely ever starstruck, but being born a proud Marylander, this type of stuff gets me hyped.
I think many of us growing up in the same generation would understand.
So let me preface:
I received an email really late at night – I couldn’t believe my eyes – surely, I was reading it incorrectly.
All I responded was:
“Wait wait waittttttttttt — are you.. like THE Olympic Figure Skater???!!!
If you are — I am totally like starstruck~!
I watched you back in the day and was rooting for you~!!!
I can’t believe I am about to say this… but I just booked your wedding date and I am unavailable — WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE??!!”
We had back and forth conversations and I returned back to my teenager life where I would be watching the Olympics on TV.
What impressed me most about you was that you were so humble about it all and shared with me a lot of the difficulties of being a professional at such a young age.
I have so much respect for you and I appreciate you sharing that while on our hike.
Also, thank you both (and doggo) for being open to the idea of scaling a mountain and freezing our asses off in early December…
Would I do it again?
Would I do it again for you two?
